How can you reregister the DNS service records for an Active Directory Domain Controller?

The easiest way to reregister the DNS service records for an Active Directory Domain Controller is to use the DNS Manager snap-in in Server Manager. To reregister the DNS service records for an Active Directory Domain Controller, follow these steps:

1. Open the DNS Manager snap-in.

2. In the DNS Manager snap-in, right-click the Active Directory Domain Controller that you want to reregister the DNS service records for, and then click Properties.

3. On the General tab, click the DNS Registration tab.

23. In the DNS Manager snap-in, click the Active Directory Domain Controller that you reregistered the DNS service records for, and then click OK.

24. In the DNS Manager snap-in, click the Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) server that you used to assign the DNS server address, and then click Renew.

25. In the Renew DHCP Server dialog box, type the DHCP server name that you used to assign the DNS server address, and then click OK.

26. In the DNS Manager snap-in, click the Active Directory Domain Controller, and then click OK.

27. In the DNS Manager snap-in, in the Results pane, click the Active Directory Domain Controller Properties node, and then click the DNS Registration tab.

28. In the DNS Registration tab, in the Zone Name list, select the zone that you reregistered the DNS service records for.
