Avast VPN is a popular VPN service with a large user base. It is often recommended as a reliable VPN service.

However, there is some debate over whether or not Avast VPN logs user activity.

A 2017 study by Citizen Lab found that Avast VPN logs user activity. The study used an algorithm to analyze the data of millions of user visits to websites that were Targeted by the spyware company Hacking Team.

The study found that Avast had provided Hacking Team with user data for at least two years.

In response to the Citizen Lab study, Avast released a statement saying that it had not provided user data to Hacking Team and that it had no connection to the spyware company. However, the company did not deny that it logs user activity.

While it is possible that Avast logs user activity, there is no evidence that the company does so. Therefore, it is safe to use the service.
