Domain name system (DNS) records are essential for resolving hostnames to IP addresses. When you purchase or transfer a domain name, your DNS provider sets up the appropriate records in their system.

You can also change DNS records on your own.

To change a domain name’s DNS records:

1. Log into your domain name’s administrative interface.

2. Click on “DNS Management” in the left-hand navigation pane.

3. Under “A Records,” click on the “Add Record” button.

4. Type the new domain name into the “Domain Name” box.

5. Type the IP address of the new server into the “IP Address” box.

6. Click on the “Add Record” button.

7. Repeat steps 4-6 for any other records you wish to change.

8. Click on the “DNS Management” tab in the left-hand navigation pane.

9. Under “NS Records,” click on the “Add Record” button.

22. Type the new TTL (time to live) for the record in the “TTL (time to live)” box.

38. Type the new alias name into the “Alias Name (Host)” box.

40. Type the email address of the new server into the “Email Address (Alias)” box.
