Windows 7 comes with built-in VPN support, but it’s not as user-friendly as some of the other options available. To find your VPN, open the Control Panel and click on Network and Sharing Center. Click on the link under the heading of “Network and Internet Connections.” Right-click on the active connection and select Properties. On the General tab, click on the link that says “Properties of this connection”. On the VPN tab, click on the link that says “Properties of this VPN connection.” On the Security tab, click on the link that says “Properties of this security connection.” In the “VPN Type” drop-down list, select the type of VPN you want to use. In the “Server Address” box, type the IP address of the VPN server. In the “Port” box, type the port number of the VPN server. In the “Authentication” box, type the username and password of the user account that has access to the VPN server. In the “VPN Connection Type” drop-down list, select the type of VPN connection you want to use. In the “Virtual Private Network (VPN)” box, type the name of the VPN connection. In the “Properties of this virtual private network (VPN)” box, type the name of the VPN connection. Click OK. In the “Network and Sharing Center” window, click on the link under the heading of “Network and Internet Connections. In the “Internet Protocol Version 4 (IPv4)” box, type the IP address of the computer that you want to connect to the VPN. In the “Subnet Mask” box, type the subnet mask of the computer that you want to connect to the VPN. In the “Default Gateway” box, type the IP address of the computer that you want to connect to the VPN. In the “DNS Servers” box, type the IP addresses of the two DNS servers that you want to use.

In the “Proxy Server” box, type the IP address of the computer that you want to use as a proxy server. In the “User Name” box, type the username of the user account that has access to the computer that you want to connect to the VPN. In the “Password” box, type the password of the user account that has access to the computer that you want to connect to the VPN. On the “Network and Sharing Center” window, click on the link under the heading of “Network and Internet Connections. In the “Connections” box, click on the link that says “Connect to a network.” In the “Type” drop-down list, select the type of connection that you want to use. In the “Connection Name” box, type the name of the connection. In the “Description” box, type a description of the connection. In the “Internet Protocol Version 4 (IPv4)” box, type the IP address of the computer that you want to connect to the network. In the “Subnet Mask” box, type the subnet mask of the computer that you want to connect to the network. In the “Default Gateway” box, type the IP address of the computer that you want to connect to the network. In the “Proxy Server” box, type the IP address of the computer that you want to use as a proxy server.
