One way to query your DNS server is to use the nslookup command. For example, to query for the IP address for www.

google.com, you would use the nslookup command as follows:.

nslookup www.google.com

This would return the following output:

Server: 10.0.

0.1.

Address: 74.125.

237.236.

This output shows the IP address for www.com as being located on the 10.1 server.
