Windows 7 has a built-in proxy and VPN functionality. To turn off proxy and VPN in Windows 7:

1. Open the Start Menu and click on the Control Panel.

2. Under the Network and Internet category, click on Network and Sharing Center.

3. In the Network and Sharing Center window, click on the Connections tab.

4. In the Connections tab, under the network connections, click on the Details button.

5. In the Details window, under the Network Connections heading, click on the Proxy and VPN connections.

6. In the Proxy and VPN connections window, under the Use a proxy server for this connection heading, select the Use the following proxy server address radio button, and then type the proxy server address into the appropriate field.

7. Under the Use a VPN server for this connection heading, select the Use the following VPN server address radio button, and then type the VPN server address into the appropriate field.

8. In the Connection type drop-down list, select the Use the following internet connection type radio button, and then select the appropriate network connection type from the drop-down list.

9. Click on the OK button to close the Network and Sharing Center window.

10. Restart the computer to apply the changes.
