There is no federal law that specifically prohibits the concealment of one’s IP address, but a variety of state and local lAWS may prohibit such behavior. In many cases, violating such lAWS can result in criminal penalties, including fines, imprisonment, or both.

Generally speaking, it is illegal to conceal one’s IP address with the intent to avoid being identified or tracked online. This includes using a proxy server, VPN, or other methods to conceal one’s IP address.

It is also illegal to tamper with online tracking systems, such as those used by advertisers or online analytics companies, in order to conceal one’s IP address.

Penalties for violating these lAWS can include fines, imprisonment, or both. If you are found to have violated any of these lAWS, you may be subject to criminal penalties, including fines, imprisonment, or both.
