Firewall in IoT refers to the security measures that are put in place to protect devices from unauthorized access, attacks, and data theft. By default, many IoT devices include built-in firewall features, but it is also possible to install a separate firewall solution.

A firewall is a security mechanism that protects computers and networks from unauthorized access and attacks. A firewall is a “stateful” firewall, which means that it remembers the state of each connection (open, closed, or filtered) and will allow or deny traffic accordingly.

A “stateless” firewall does not remember the state of any connections, and is therefore less powerful at protecting a network.

The most common firewall protocols used in the modern Internet are the TCP and UDP protocols. A firewall can also protect a network from unauthorized access by providing a “filtering” service.

This service will allow only authorized traffic to pass through the firewall, and will block all other traffic.

A firewall is a valuable security tool for any network, but is especially important in the deployment of IoT devices.
