Firewalls are devices used to protect computers from unauthorized access and intrusion. They do this by filtering traffic that enters or leaves the computer.

This traffic can be from the Internet, a local area network, or a single computer.

IDSs (Intrusion Detection Systems) are similar to firewalls, but they are specifically designed to detect and prevent unauthorized access to computer systems. They use a variety of sensors to detect unauthorized activity, such as attempted hacker attacks, unauthorized data access, and suspicious network traffic.
