Netflix is one of the most popular streaming platforms in the world, with over 130 million subscribers. However, Netflix is not alone in this regard.

Nearly every popular streaming platform blocks some types of VPNs.

Netflix’s blocking of VPNs is principally due to two reasons. First, Netflix believes that VPNs are used by criminals to circumvent geographic restrictions and access unauthorized content.

Second, Netflix believes that VPNs can be used to cheat the platform’s anti-piracy measures.

Netflix does allow some types of VPNs. These include VPNs that are used to access Netflix from outside of the United States, VPNs that are used to access Netflix from within the United States but outside of a physical Netflix location, and VPNs that are used to access Netflix from within the United States but from a physical Netflix location that is not located within the United States.
