Proxy servers are used so that people can hide their identity when they are online. The PlayStation 4 is asking for a proxy server because Sony is trying to prevent people from seeing the latest games that have been released.
People who are using proxies to see the games are called “geek hackers.” Sony does not like this because it is trying to protect its intellectual property.
