Domain controllers play an important role in the DNS infrastructure. However, if you need to remove DNS from a domain controller, it is possible to do so.

To remove DNS from a domain controller:

1. Log on to the domain controller as an administrator.

2. Open the DNS console.

3. Right-click the domain name and select Properties.

4. On the General tab, click the Remove button next to DNS Server.

5. Click OK.

6. Restart the DNS server.
