DNS is the Domain Name System, which helps computers find the right web page by translating human-readable domain names like “www.google.

com” into numerical IP addresses. When you type in the domain name for a website, your computer queries DNS for the corresponding IP address.

The DNS server responds with a list of IP addresses, each of which corresponds to a website. If you want to visit www.com, your computer will query the DNS server for the IP address 173.

194.47.129. The DNS server will then return the numerical address for that website, so you can connect to it using your web browser.
