DNS (Domain Name System) is a hierarchical naming system for computers, servers, and other devices with a unique hostname. DNS uses a hierarchical model in which each device has a unique top-level domain name, such as “com,” “net,” “org,” and “gov.

” The top-level domain name is followed by a series of subdomains, each of which is associated with a specific type of device.

DNS is similar to the domain name system used by websites. Websites use the domain name system to identify the IP addresses of the computers that host them.

DNS and the domain name system are also used to locate the addresses of servers that provide services for websites.
