Domain DNS records are the authoritative records for your domain. They tell your computer where to find the DNS servers responsible for resolving domain names into IP addresses.

When you create a new domain, you will need to provide your domain registrar with the DNS records for that domain. Your registrar will then provide these records to your hosting provider and to any other domain name providers who have contractually agreed to provide DNS services for your domain.

When you create a new website, you will need to provide your web hosting provider with the DNS records for that website. Your web hosting provider will then provide these records to your domain name registrar and to any other domain name providers who have contractually agreed to provide DNS services for your website.

Domain DNS records are also used to resolve queries for services not hosted by your domain name registrar or web hosting provider. For example, if you use Google search to find information about a product, Google will query Google’s DNS servers for the IP address for the product’s website.

Domain DNS records are stored on your domain name registrar’s servers. Your domain name registrar can also provide you with a copy of your domain’s DNS records.
